Welcome to my pledge and progress page for the Avon Breast Cancer 3-day 2002. This picture is of my two French Bulldogs, Munroe and Howie after a training walk. NO FAT DOGS!!
I have decided to do something that will challenge me physically, mentally, and emotionally. Something that will make a difference in the way I will look at life. I have decided to participate in the Avon Breast Cancer 3-Day on August 9, 10 & 11, 2002. This is a 60-mile walk from Enumclaw to Seattle.
Why would I want to do such a thing one would ask? Well, personally in the last year I have know 4 women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and that to me is 4 to many. There are over one million women in America with undetected breast cancer. This year alone, approximately 182,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in the United States. Your chance of knowing this woman is nearly 100%.
I'm committed to raising more than the required pledge amount of $1,900. I've started my training and by the time August rolls around I will have walked some 400 miles and worn out a couple pairs of shoes and countless pairs of socks.
